Tutorial 01: in the clouds

I thought this tutorial would perhaps help someone. I redid the icon from scratch (because I almost never save the .psp file).

I recommend to experiment a lot -- if not, it wouldn't be nearly as fun to make icons -- and to make icons that you would use yourself. ^^
Now onto the tutorial.

From: that to this: in five simple steps.


1) I chose an interesting cropping from this picture.

2) There was some text left and I got rid of it by using the clone brush (size5/hardness76/step25).

3) I chose to use this texture (by me) because it matches the icon perfectly. I pasted it as a new layer and set it to multiply100.

4) Eww~ It's covering her. So I erased the parts covering her dress, her head and the umbrella. (size5&10/hardness3/steps25/opacity73)

5) I copy/past the texture again and set it, this time, to overlay100.
