Love

Social life is like a drama or a stage play.
~Erving Goffman

You never thought you would sleep in the arms of a man. Again you never thought you would be a celebrity.

You were conscious that fame had taken away your chance of living an ordinary student life. You were now also aware that this night would perhaps prevent you from having an ordinary family life. It's not like you ever thought seriously about marriage and kids - you were young, you had time and had yet to encounter the love of your life. That thought brought a smile on your lips. He was right, you really were inexperienced, enough to still believe in romantic clichés.

Feeling his breath on your ear, you decided that ordinary lives were overrated.

Still. You were a bit ashamed of your emotional breakdown and decided it would be wiser to extract yourself of his embrace to avoid the interrogation of the others. You just needed to leave his warm and comfortable arms. Damn. That was more difficult than you thought it would be. Five minutes more wouldn't hurt, would it?

The second time you opened your eyes, you were alone. But the blanket was the proof that it hadn't been only a dream. You snuggled in it, not wanting to think of anything or anyone, and breathed deeply, inhaling the scent of Jaejoong. Damnit for not wanting to think.

Yes, Jaejoong had always been special. But so were Junsu, Yoochun and Yunho. Yet it was different. Was it a special kind of special? Was there even one? It had been hard to tell him this word and you had felt so warm and fuzzy inside. Like those girls in love in those mushy dramas.

Wait.

Rewind.

Replay.

in love

Pause.

mushy?

Rewind further back.

Replay.

the kiss scene, the crying scene, the cuddling scene

You really were slow. And dumb. Really sleepy would perhaps be more correct?

It was so obvious. Earlier you even thought of marriage and love while being in the arms of Jaejoong. Would an ordinary man make this kind of connexion? To go from sleeping with another man to marriage and love.

You were in love with your Hyung. And from the looks of it, he had at least some romantic inclination towards you.

Well. At least there wasn't any annoying, pathetic and beautiful rival throwing herself at Jaejoong. Neither was there a life-threatening disease and he was sure they weren't brothers nor cousins.

He hoped there wasn't any twist coming his way.

His thoughts were interrupted by the door opening on a tray of food. And Jaejoong in his pink apron, smirking.

"You have drool on your chin."

Your hand went to your face. He looked smug.

"Got you."

"Pink doesn't suit you."

He leaned on the door frame. An eyebrow lifted.

"Oh? You aren't hungry?"

The gurgle of your stomach was more eloquent than any words.

"Pink still doesn't suit you. And by the way, lace doesn't either."

He took a bite of pancake. He closed his eyes, and swallowed. His tongue ran over his lips.

"Delicious. But if you are not hungry..."

"I am. But still, purple bunny slippers?!"

"Says the one who owns the hamtaro pyjama."

"Says the one who stole it."

"No food for the sleepy head then."

You tried the pout.

"You are evil. In pink."

"It's not my fault you can't read."

Huh?

Jaejoong pointed at his apron.

Love the cook.

You snorted. But then you thought about how the misunderstandings and unsaid feelings always seemed like the worse enemy of the drama girls. Worse than a woman with larger breast and a terminal illness.

"Hyung."

Noticing your change of tone, he tilted his head, signalling he was listening with attention. You fiddled a bit with the blanket. The truth always came out anyway, you reasoned with yourself.

"I have fallen in love with you."

You smiled. It wasn't that difficult after all.

"I mean it. I love you."

You waited. He blinked. And blinked again.

Still. His reaction time was a bit long. You ducked your head.
It was a mistake. You didn't see coming the sixty-three loving kilos lunching itself at you. You had been thoroughly flattened and Jaejoong was now trying to crush you with a hug. A shy "me too" was muffled on your neck.

Even though there was food all over the floor, even though his hands were cold, even though he was heavy, it was the most perfect moment of your life.

A happy end without complications?

You hoped so.
